Internet VIDEO – I want to set you up on a BLIND DATE!

If you’re not using video on your website, how are people really going to get to know you?  And if they don’t know you, how are they going to decide they like you?  And if they don’t know or like you, why on earth would they trust you, let alone go into business with you, purchase a product or service from you, or come to you for advice or consulting?  They wouldn’t!

Let’s face it, we like to have a voice and a face to go with the words when we meet someone or contemplate doing business with them.  In a society where anyone can pop up a website and pretend to be someone they’re not, why should we trust anyone without seeing, hearing, and feeling the message directly from them-and getting a chance to assess the messenger with our very own eyes and ears?  The fact is, we don’t!

Doing business with someone you’ve never actually seen is like going out on a blind date:  SCARY!  And just looking at a photo isn’t really all that much better.  You never can be sure if the photo is one that just came with the wallet or if it is the person’s great looking best friend or if the photo is 20 years old!  So it’s nice to see who you’ll be working with in real time-in the here and now!

Video is ideal for this.  You can get up in front of your potential clients or associates and be seen.  They can check out your body language and grooming habits.  They can hear you speak and assess your likability quotient.  They can hear you speak.  They can tell in a very short time whether you know what you’re talking about and are a bona fide expert in your area or whether you are just blowing smoke.  They can also assess your believability and sincerity-two key ingredients that factor into that all-important trust factor.

Twelve-year-olds are making amateur videos these days and showcasing them on YouTube, facebook, and other online venues.  And actually, many of those videos look a lot better than some of the professionally produced videos you can find on some sites.  While I realize twelve-year-olds and kids in general are a lot more technologically savvy than any of us ever were at that age, the fact remains:  if a twelve-year-old can do it, then why the heck aren’t you?

It’s not as complicated as many people like to imagine it is.  Just because you don’t know how to do it-YET-doesn’t mean you can’t learn quickly and easily.  Did you know with an easy to use software program, you can create and upload a simple video to your website online-complete with creating a great lead-in page from a customizable template-in less than 20 minutes?  I’ve spent more time than that looking for my car keys!

So if video is easy to create and upload and it can help absolute strangers come to know, like, and trust you-and if all of these things can directly impact the success of your online business-what on earth are you waiting for?

Most of us mean well.  We jot down notes.  We think about how great a video we could create.  We imagine it in our minds and start thinking through what we might say.  But that’s where it ends.  Actually, that’s the real reason most businesses don’t succeed.  People think about things and don’t actually DO them.  Doing is the key to success.  Action is the key to income.  Procrastination is nothing.  Thinking about things doesn’t get them done.  Only doing produces real results.

So if you read these business tips and you understand them and you buy into them, you have a great potential here to make your business successful.  But if all you ever do is read about them and think about them and you don’t actually do anything, your business will never get off the ground at all.  But if you are one of the very few people who will listen, absorb, and then put this information and advice into practice, you can be one of the industry leaders who succeed and achieve great things in their online business.
